COURSE OVERVIEW :
The world and life in it get an aesthetic meaning from the rich play of gestures and postures.
We “read” gestures, from the slightest movement of facial muscles to the most powerful movements of masses of bodies called “revolutions.” Likewise postures characteristic or assumed call for attention and make ripples of thought.
Gestures and Postures manipulate texts and objects that surround us.
We incessantly take postures, make and interpret gestures, but our attention dismisses them and focuses on their meanings—that we say, write, build, paint, photograph, film, record, seek, and love — Our interpretation of gestures and postures are reflexive and intuitive.
In this workshop we invite you to bring back our attention for a keen look into the world of gestures and postures.
Master Mime Drupad Gaonkar will propose and facilitate approaches towards individual and collective recognition, ideation, gesticulations, which shall be followed by discussions.

The programme is conceived in an interdisciplinary space inviting thinkers, writers, performers and all engaged in traditional and contemporary visual arts.
Course structure
Starting 19th November, every Tuesdays there shall be input sessions and corresponding applications will be shared for practice through the week.
Every Monday starting 25th application will reviewed and discussed.

WORKSHOP DIRECTOR PROFILE:
DRUPAD GAONKAR
A Multi-performing Artist, two time World Record Holder and TedX Speaker Drupad a.k.a. BLIP has more than two and half decades of experience, into the Silent Art-form of MIME.
He is the Director of Mooladhvani In Movement & Expression (M.I.M.E.); and Founding member of Bharatiya Mookabhinaya Natya Maha Sangha (Indian Mime Federation) and the professional Mime group IMIMEGINATION. Apart from having been credited to give a commercial angle to Mime he is known to coalesce various performing and visual arts to create new forms and expressions.
Drupad is renowned to perform various aspects of Sri Aurobindo’s Epic Savitri.
The world records to his credit are 50hrs Non- Stop Mime Marathon and 12hrs 12mins Non-Stop Mime Living Statue.
Originally from Goa, Drupad is now based in Auroville, in Her service.
